6 Effective Tips For Losing Face Fat

Although the rules for losing weight in general are fairly well known (eat a little less and healthier, move more), the secrets to losing weight in specific places are still up for debate. As we are quite sure that it is impossible to control fat reduction exactly, we are also quite confident that there are various ways to make the face slimmer. Most of the time, the reason why the face can look chubby is not the presence of fat, but bloating and water retention. That’s great news considering it’s a pretty easy problem to fix.

1. Facial exercises

We know you feel silly doing them. But these exercises definitely help with facial muscle tone, making your cheekbones more toned and your jawline more defined.

2. Watch out for sodium

Whole batches of processed, prepackaged foods contain an insane amount of sodium that can make you feel bloated, make your face look puffy, and generally cause you to retain water. So trying to reduce sodium intake will definitely make your face look less chubby because your body will finally be able to let go of all that excess water it’s been holding on to.

3. Say no to alcohol

Having a drink or two in a row can certainly be fun, but these are liquid calories that can sneak up and settle with you if you make a habit of going out and drinking often. Not only does alcohol cause bloating and make your face oilier, it’s also usually high in sugar and calories. So if a slim face is your goal, we suggest saying no to alcohol.

4. Make cardio part of your routine

Cardio exercise is the best way to lose fat and since you lose fat from all over when you do cardio, that includes your face too. Otherwise running is the obvious choice for many and if you don’t like running, opt for evening or morning walks ranging from 30 minutes to an hour, it will be just as effective. Otherwise, you can always dance, it’s the most fun cardio we can think of, it doesn’t even look like you’re exercising.

5. Hydrate

Making sure you are well hydrated is also very important when it comes to losing fat. Drinking plenty of water (2.5 liters per day) will keep your skin nice and firm. As strange as it may sound, drinking enough water will ensure that you don’t retain extra water and therefore look bloated.

6. Have a steady sleep pattern

Long working days, late evenings and sleepless nights are not an ally for weight loss. Indeed, all of these things are common causes of weight gain. If you don’t get enough sleep and are stressed, your body releases a hormone called cortisol which is linked to weight gain. The best way to reduce your stress, lose a few pounds and the fat on your face is therefore quality sleep. Make sure you get at least 8 hours of sleep a day and try to schedule relaxing activities like picnics, walks, and a massage or two.
